Great, authentic BBQ and one of the owners, Louis, gave me friendly and fast service. Very good prices as well. I will be taking my friends back there this summer! Rusty

Macaroni was out of a box. I dont even think the Potatoes were real. Chicken fried steak wasn't home made and had gravy on it that tasted like strawberrys 😂. Jalapeno poppers were alright though.

Great service and a solid selection of beef, pork, and chicken. Would have liked a little more BBQ sauce on the ribs.

Great BBQ pulled pork sandwich and great service. I know good BBQ and for up here on the mountain they really do a great smoked brisket as well. Well worth a stop in !

My full rack of baby back ribs and sweet tea were amazing. No sauce needed, but I did sample the sauce and it was great too. Good perfectly seasoned meat doesn't need sauce. Oh and great friendly service...

I have eaten Memphis bbq and Grumpy Jake's is very identical to that good old Southern style bbq.

Had a delivery from Jake's the food is overpriced and they didn't bring any utensils with them when when was called about it they said oh well

Fantastic barbecue! Tender, moist, and tasty meat. The ribs are the best I’ve ever eaten and I’ve eaten ribs all over the US. The staff was friendly and courteous, and the food was delivered in a timely fashion.

Food is always good here. We always get a couple sampler platters for our family of 4 and it's a good amount of food for all of us.

The food is great service great. Chicken fried steak best I've ever had. And this fat gal has had lots of chicken fried steaks.

They were very accommodating with a split meal. Very good food including homemade coconut cream pie.

Pretty good BBQ. The pulled pork was flavorful, juicy, and the sandwich had enough meat on it for to make a whole other sandwich! Beers are all bottles, but a decent enough selection. Probs are a fair size, staff is friendly and the environment is cozy.

Best brisket on the mountain!!! You have to try their Miss Piggy pie!!! Sooo yummy! And the staff is so warm and friendly! Great place!!! Highly recommend!!!

I'm sorry but, I ate there three times & got sick. I didn't know it was from eating there. Till my date got sick also. I won't go there again. And recommend don't eat there. I make better brisket at home in my smoker. I guess it's becuz I'm an retired executive chef....

Rude people. Food wasn't great either-but the service was atrocious. Owner needs to stop working with people since she has no clue how to treat others respectfully.

Meal was good, but no one was impressed with any of the various dishes. Portions were above average. BBQ sauce was pretty good, and nice and warm. However! the corn bread basket at the start was the highlight. Everyone was amazed. Staff was great, even for a huge group.

Start out with hand dipped fried zucchini! Then make sure you ask for "jerk sauce" to go with whatever you're eating. You can't go wrong!

Never go wrong by eating here. All bbq dishes are done on a giant smoker out front. Bbq sauce is homemade and on the side so you can use a little or a lot. My favorite items are the brisket sandwich or the cod with okra on the side. Go hungry and leave stuffed.

I came in here with a very large party that basically took over the place on a Saturday afternoon. With that in mind, the wait staff were amazing, fast and efficient, did a great job with orders and refills. Cannot say enough about our server. The kitchen did a great job getting 22 lunch orders out fast, hot, and delicious. The brisquet was fork tender, the ribs were fall off the bone, and the bbq sauce was brought out hot. My only nit picking complaints were the kids meals were brought out with Kraft mac n cheese instead of the homemade which they have, and the bbq pulled chicken was a little boring. This being our first time, now we know. We will definitely be back for more of that bbq.

This was the first local restuarant that we decided to try. I Was not impressed by this food at all. Nothing tasted like bbq, all was bland. Mac n cheese didn't seem like it had any cheese, it was oily and mushy orange pasta. Even the fries were awful. The prices do NOT reflect the quality of their food at all. Will not eat here again.

Quick friendly service, cornbread was good, however, if you're looking for BBQ skip this place. The food was very bland, even the pie was bland. The brisket was OK, everything else was subpar. Sorry to say, since the wait staff was so pleasant.

This is a great place for a pulled pork sandwich. The meat was very tender & they even brought me a "syrup" bottle of "hot" BBQ sauce. My husband had a BLT & said it was excellent. The bacon was thick & crispy. The staff was very attentive. If I lived here I would be there a lot.

Service was very attentive and friendly, that's where the good part of the review stops. My family ordered the family feast which had ribs, chicken and pulled pork. Pretty much all the meat was dry and barely lukewarm. Since the change in ownership the quality of the food has tanked. Potato salad for the sides was the only bright part of the meal. This restaurant used to serve great BBQ, sad to say that I won't return.

Ate here last night and was very pleased. Everyone’s food was delicious and the services was great. I have special dietary requirements and the staff went out of their way to answer my many questions and made sure to know the ingredients of their items. Will eat here again

The waitress was great, the BBQ was just OK. I'm picky, poultry was dry and it was better that the brisket.

Great BBQ joint, great smoke on the meat. Tender and juicy all around. Had the Super Sampler, fantastic. Miguel did a great job on all the meats and I tried everything. The sauce is amazing, has a bit of a bite to it and didn't know if I would like it but it's great. Had the baked beans and slaw for sides, these were winners in my book. Fresh and not too sweet like most places tasting like they pour sugar onto it all. Top notch and going to be me and my family go to for BBQ when visiting.

Enjoyed my ribs and you should try the cowboy beans. I will go back.

The servers where very nice and the food was awesome! The bacon wrapped Jalapeño poppers where the best I’ve had and the ribs where very tasty as well. We will definitely be back next time we visit.

Great food, fun atmosphere and fantastic service. They accepted all 10.5 of our party with happy smiling faces and were a hoot to talk with.

The best service, and oh my goodness, and absolutely the best pulled pork with thier awesome BBQ sauce. We even bought a pint of the BBQ sauce to take home! The coleslaw was seasoned perfectly. Great 60's music in the background, not too loud so you could have nice dinner conversation. Love this place!

This review is based on two visits. The first thing that caught my attention was the smoke crossing the road from the smoking pit, then the good smell of meat cooking to perfection. The log cabin look is nice also. The entrance is right next to the fresh made pie display, that will stir your hunger. I have found the staff too always be friendly and willing to take care of you, and no matter how busy they are they are always smiling. I have tried their Pulled Pork Sandwich and the Brisket Sandwich. Found both to be mouth watering good. Will be visiting again.

Stopped by randomly when driving to visit Show Low. The pulled pork sandwich was very good, and they provided extra sauce. My family reported the ribs and fried chicken were delicious. The pie choices seemed plentiful, but we were so full after lunch. The cowboy interior was fun. Our server was attentive and friendly. Also, the toy vending machines were fun at the end, where we got a lego 1911 that shoots rubber bands!

Great to be able to dine in. Both sandwiches were good I really liked the coleslaw the hotlink sandwich was very flavorful but thought it could have used something more it came with just the hotlink, maybe some pickles or onions, service was excellent

The service was great. Plenty attentive but not overwhelming. The fried zucchini appetizer used zucchini spears. The batter was think and crunchy and the zucchini crisp. It was great.The BBQ sampler is huge. Plenty of food for the price, which is more than I can say for a lot of other places. There were two slices of brisket. The meat came from the flat, not the point. It was improperly sliced with the grain like you would slide a tri-tip. It was tender even having been reheated. The little bit of bark was flavorful, but the meat did not appear to be smoked. The pulled pork was piled high. The chopped chicken wasn't chopped, it was pulled. All three meats suffered from lack of personality. I don't know if they're grilled or baked. They were tender, but also bland. Maybe is was an off day because there's a ton of potential here.In the end this place has potential. I hope to come back and try again.

Great barbecue! Highly recommend the family meals... that way you try a little of everything. My favorite was the pulled pork.

Arrived twords the end of the day 1 hour before closing so I give a little slack. Ordered a super sampler (Brisket, ribs, pulled chicken and pulled pork) brisket and ribs were my favorite. The pulled meats were plain. Corn bread was hot and good. The sampler was enough for 2 eating a light meal. Service was good, prices reasonable. I will have to give it a try a little earlier.
